Today at 1018hours, crews responded to 1372 Brooks Ave for the report of a rail car on fire in the rail yard. Crews arrived on scene and found a rail car full of pallets on fire. The fire was confined to the rail car and extensive overhaul was performed, which included emptying of the rail car. Crews worked for approximately 5 hours till the fire was completed extinguished. Thank you to the Gates Highway Department for the use of their Drott to remove the pallets. Also thank you to the Ridge Road Fire District for covering other calls in our district and assisting at the scene.
