Child Passenger Safety Week is Sept. 17-23. Make an appointment to have your child seats checked. Sept. 23 is Car Seat Saturday and many locations will be doing inspections that day. Call 426-2720 for an appointment at the Gates Fire District or contact Monroe County Office of Traffic Safety for a location nearest you.

For the best protection, make sure all smoke alarms are interconnected. When one sounds, they all sound. These are hard-wired alarms and different than the free alarms that the Gates Fire Department installs. You can purchase replacements from most stores that sell smoke alarms. Contact our Community Risk Reduction office if you need your alarms checked.

This morning 11 of our members participated in the annual @nationalfallenfirefighters 9/11 memorial stairclimb at Innovation Field. Our team was proud to win the award for most money raised by a single team. All the money raised goes to families of fallen firefighters and the FDNY counseling unit.
