The Gates Fire District has partnered with RocMaiden and the Monroe County Fire Bureau to send personal protective firefighting gear to the Ukraine. Through authorization from the Gates Fire Commission, 35 sets of useable turnout gear that has expired by US standards, but is still plenty capable of being used by those in need, has been made surplus and delivered to RocMaiden. Many other fire and EMS departments in Monroe County have answered the call to donate as well, and we hope for a swift and peaceful outcome to this atrocity.
