The Gates Fire District, and Gates-Chili Fire Department are preparing to get teams ready for deployment to Genesee County in the event they need assistance from flooding.
Our plan will be to send Rescue 4528 with a crew of 2 or 3 Firefighters. We are planning on 12 and 24 hour shifts seeing this response would be to an adjoining county. If any of our Volunteers with the Gates-Chili Fire Department are available to work a 24 or 12 hour shift on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday please contact our Dispatcher at 426-2720 and advise him of your availability.
If we are activated – we will have those who are able to assist, notified of the response times and the location they would need to report to.
At this time we are canvassing the Gates-Chili Department’s Volunteer Firefighters only, in the event there is a Federal Disaster Declaration awarded by FEMA we will then be able to canvas the Career Firefighters for deployment.
