This morning, our firefighters were evaluated by the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control – Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (OFPC-DHSES) to become a FEMA Type 3 Swiftwater/Flood Search and Rescue Team.
Resource typing is the categorization and description of resources that are commonly exchanged in disasters via mutual aid, by capacity and/or capability. Through resource typing, disciplines examine resources and identify the capabilities of a resource’s components (i.e., personnel, equipment, training).
Our firefighters train extensively for these scenarios and work hard to provide the best service to our community.
