The Gates Fire District along with the Gates-Chili Fire Department hosted our annual Open House on Sunday, October 2, 2011.
The goal of this event was to educate the public on fire safety and allow them an opportunity to meet representatives from various public safety agencies throughout Monroe County and New York State . The event allowed visitors to see a live vehicle extrication demonstration, view a live burn with officials from the NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control , and children had an opportunity to participate in a hands-on activity using a fire hose. Our Open House attracted approximately 400 citizens to all three fire stations and was huge success. Thank you to all who participated.
