Notice of Public Hearing

RESOLUTION TO EMPLOY A PAID FIRE CHIEF

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following resolution of the Gates Fire District of the Towns of Gates and Chili, State of New York will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Gates Fire District, for its consideration.

            A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at Gates Fire District Station #1, Town of Gates, 2355 Chili Avenue, Gates, New York 14624, on the 19^th day of May, 2005, at 7:00 P.M., for the purpose of considering the following resolution and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same. The Resolution to be considered is as follows:

             RESOLVED, the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Gates Fire District does hereby determine that in order to protect the residents of the Gates Fire District, it is in the public interest of the residents of the Fire District to employ a paid chief of the fire district department at an annual salary range of $63,000 to $75,000,  and it is further

           RESOLVED that all remaining issues related to this paid chief’s  position set forth in General Municipal Law Sections 176(11c), 176-a and other statutes relating to the chief of a fire district department may be determined by subsequent resolutions of the Board of Fire Commissioners.

All persons interested in speaking on the above resolution should contact the Fire District Secretary, at (585) 426-1258, by 12:00 noon on May 19^th, 2005, to be placed on the agenda. All speakers will be limited to three (3) minutes.
