Fire Prevention

The Gates Fire District, along with the Gates-Chili Fire Department, Inc. believes Fire Prevention Education to be an important part of a fire department program. In the United States alone, over 3,000 people lose their lives each year to fire. It cannot be overstated the importance of a pro-active fire prevention program to instill values and safety consciousness, to have a safe attitude and respect for fire, and to make safe and responsible choices as we go about our daily lives.

My name is Joseph Manuse and I am Fire Prevention Coordinator for the Gates Fire District.  I am responsible for providing appropriate fire prevention and fire safety lessons through community outreach programs to our school system, local businesses & senior centers. I will work as the information resource for anyone who has questions about fire safety and education.

I will schedule and teach fire extinguisher training to our local businesses and groups within the fire district as well as coordinating smoke and carbon monoxide detector programs for our residents. All of these services are offered at no cost to residences and businesses located in the Gates Fire District. I can be contacted at 426-2720 or you can email me at jmanuse@gatesfd.org
